1st Annual Ladies Go-Kart Race 2007 |
The First Ladies Go-Kart Race – 2007 was held on Saturday, February 24, 2007 at the Tiger Karts Pvt Ltd Halchowk, Swayambhu. The event was organized by Mrs. Stine Heiselberg Edwards, as the fund raiser for the Nep al Bal Ghar, an orphanage.
There were 16 participants in total with six Nepalese ladies to compete. The inauguration was done by one of the best and talented actress of Nepali Cinema, Ms. Bipana Thapa. It was a tough competition for the participants with thrill and exhilaration. Ms.Mariann Sceinpert of Norway won the title. The game started around 10.15a.m. and lasted for 2hrs. It seemed everybody wanted to win the race. The spectators cheered for their favourate throughout the race. The Chairman of Tiger Mountain Group, Mr.A.V. Jim Edwards was also present and he enjoyed the event immensely. Ms. Rachana Rana, Managing Director of British Airways gave away the prizes. It became one of the best afternoon for all. |
